Digital Dragons 2025: Our first dive into the industry – and we made a splash!

From May 18–20, Kraków once again became the beating heart of European game development. But this year’s Digital Dragons 2025 was more than just another industry conference – for us, it was a milestone. It was our first time participating, first time presenting, and the first time unveiling our AI technology to a live developer audience.

Our topic: “Are LLMs the future of NPCs?”

We set out to challenge the status quo. For decades, NPCs have been the most stagnant part of game design. While graphics, physics, and AI opponents evolved, non-player characters remained static – stuck in loops, repeating the same lines, and disconnected from player actions. Players crave immersion and emotional depth, yet most NPCs feel like background props rather than participants in the story.

We saw promise in LLMs, but also serious gaps. Out-of-the-box language models can speak fluently – but they lack memory, consistency, emotional awareness, and contextual understanding of the game world. They forget what just happened, break immersion, and can’t stay in character without heavy guardrails. Alone, they’re not enough.

That’s where Foregamer comes in. At Digital Dragons, we presented our AI-powered platform designed specifically to turn LLMs into reliable, immersive, and emotionally reactive NPCs. Our system augments base models with layered memory, emotional states, behavioral anchors, and deep world integration – all customizable by designers using natural language and intuitive tools.

With Foregamer, a single writer can build dozens of unique, voice-interactive characters that remember, react, and evolve – without writing any code. From faction alignment to lore consistency, all systems connect through one unified platform that plugs directly into your game.

The result? Characters that don’t just talk – they play the game with you. Conversations become gameplay. Choices have consequences. And NPCs finally feel like living beings inside the world you’ve built.

Feedback that mattered

Our talk ended up being rated 4.8 out of 5 – one of the highest scores of the entire conference. More than the number, it was the conversations afterward that stood out: developers from indie teams and AAA studios alike told us they saw this as a missing layer in modern game design. “This is what I’ve been waiting for,” one attendee said. “Not just better graphics – better souls.”

We were a little nervous going in – first talk, first stage, first time putting our ideas in front of a live audience. But the support and engagement we received validated something we deeply believe: players are ready to talk to their games – and games should be ready to talk back.

What’s Next?

Digital Dragons 2025 confirmed that the industry is ready for more than better shaders and bigger maps. It’s ready for smarter characters.

What we saw in Kraków was a community eager to go beyond scripts – to empower players to shape stories with their own words and emotions. Our goal is to build tools that help game developers create richer, more immersive, more emotionally responsive worlds – and Digital Dragons showed us we’re not alone in wanting that future.

We left inspired, humbled, and fired up for what’s next!
